Shirley Nath, 86, of Everly, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2008, at Spencer Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 19, 2008, at Warner Funeral Home in Everly. The Rev. Lauren Ley will officiate the 11 a.m. service. Burial will be at Lone Tree Cemetery in Everly.
Casket bearers include Greg Nath, Melissa Leonard, Christine Cross, Nathan Schick, Kyle Nath, Corey Nath, Tony Nath, Jeremy Nath, Craig Nath, Chad Nath, Nichole Harsiem, Andrew Nath, Nicholas Schick and Kimberly Nath.
Mrs. Shirley Lavae Nath, the daughter of Charles and Ivah (Bennett) Allen, was born April 3, 1922, in Albert City. Her childhood years were spent in Ruthven, where she received her education, graduating from Ruthven High School.
Shirley married Elmer Nath in August 1943. Following their marriage, the couple lived a farm by Moneta. She worked as a cook in Moneta and later worked at a cafe. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Everly.
Mrs. Nath was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Elmer, three sisters: Ilene Moodie, Darlys Utecht and June Allen; two brothers: Derald Allen and Harland Allen, and one son-in-law, Steve Schick.
Shirley Nath is survived by three sons: Larry and his wife, Gloria Nath, of Estherville, Roger and his wife, Renee Nath, of Everly, Keith and his wife, Mardee Nath, of Mesa, Ariz.; one daughter: Linda Schick of Howell, Mich.; two sisters: Betty Loomis of Ayrshire and Garnet Allen of Minneapolis; one brother: Donald Allen of Fort Lauderdale; 14 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
