William 'Bill' Swart

William "Bill" Swart, 61, of Spencer passed away on July 11, 2008, on his farm in Spencer. Funeral services were held on Monday, July 14 at Warner Funeral Home in Spencer. Rev. Brent Lingle officiated the 10:30 a.m. service. Burial was at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer. Casket bearers were Dick Bockman, John Metcalf, John Schurr, Tom Mart, Bernard Von Ehwegen, and Gary Swenson.

William "Bill" Albert Swart, son of Albert and Catherine (Reardon) Swart, was born Aug. 2, 1946, in Spencer. He received his education and graduated from South Clay High School in 1965, and attended Mankato Commercial College in Mankato, Minn. Bill served in the National Guard and married Bonny Noble on April 1, 1967. Following their marriage, they farmed for 40 years in the Dickens area. Bill served on the Terril School Board for 18 years. He was a faithful member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Bill was preceded in death by his mother and is survived by his wife, Bonny, and their three sons: Chris and his wife, Tammy, and their two children, of Kalona; Steve and his two children, of Spencer; and Brent, of Spencer; his daughter, Kim Noethe, and her husband, Kirk, and their three children, of Spencer; his father, Albert Swart, of Spencer; his sister, Mary Ann Wassom, of Spencer; and his mother-in-law, Gwen Noble, of Milford; other relatives and many friends.
