Graveside services for Robert Mark Hanna will be held at Crown Hill Cemetery at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 8, 2008.
Robert passed away in Inglewood, Calif., where he had resided for the past 50 years.
Bob was born on March 26, 1920, in Presho, S.D., the second son of Roy R. and Iola (Scott) Hanna. The family soon returned to Ruthven, where he attended school, graduating in May 1937. He joined the US Navy, graduated 1st in his boot class, and served his country until 1945. He then joined his parents in the family business- Hanna's Standard Oil Service Station, cabin court, store and small dairy farm located on the old US 18 Highway.
He moved to Los Angeles, Calif., in 1955 and was employed by the County of Los Angeles until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Tom L. Hanna; sisters: Arlene Josephine Hanna and Dorothy Jeanne Hanna Sturdevant.
Bob is survived by his wife, Margaret; daughter, Melody; two grandsons; and sisters: Jane Hanna Swanson and Kathleen Hanna Ruesch.
Service arrangements were provided by Martin-Mattice Funeral Home of Ruthven/Emmetsburg.
