Rain Garden Workshop June 30

A Rain Garden Workshop will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, June 30 at Lost Island Nature Center. Learn how to design and plant a rain garden on site. What are rain gardens? Areas landscaped with native vegetation that soak up rainwater. Located to capture runoff from impervious surfaces, such as roofs and streets. Rain gardens fill with a few inches of water after a storm and then water filters into the ground, rather than running off to a storm drain. A rain garden is an example of the low impact development approach to storm water management.
