ACCIDENTS

* Peter Ung, 45, Le Mars, was cited for failure to yield upon entering a through highway following a two-car crash at 1:23 p.m. Sunday near the Highway 18 and 71 intersection in north Spencer. His 1999 Pontiac van pulled out into the path of an oncoming 2000 Buick driven by Connie Sue Hauenstein, 69, Harris. The van sustained $1,500 damage. The Buick sustained $1,200 damage.

* Gilbert Leroy Dotson, 74, Spencer, was pulling into the Spencer Auto Parts parking lot from South Grand Avenue at 9:53 a.m. Monday, June 23. As he was pulling into the lot, a 2002 Oldsmobile driven by Abbey Marie Braband, 18, Spirit Lake was backing out of the parking space. The cars collided. The Oldsmobile sustained $700 damage. Dotson's 1985 Dodge van sustained $500 damage.

* Two vehicles traveling through a parking area at Stolley's Park when a collision occurred at 11:21 Friday, June 13. A 2000 Chevrolet driven by Barbara Susan Rupert, 56, Spencer parked and facing west. A 2001 Chevrolet truck driven by Nicholas Dale Larsen, 28, Milford, was parked facing south on the other end of the parking lot. Larsen drove into a parking space near Rupert to throw trash away. Rupert didn't realize Larsen's new location. The truck sustained $500 damage. Rupert's car sustained $800 damage.

* Carla Beth Hollenkamp, 54, Spencer, was backing out of a parking space at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 14, in the 1000 block of Second Avenue East when she hit a parked 2003 Buick, which was across the street. The parked car sustained $800 damage. Hollenkamp's 2005 Toyota sustained $200 damage.

* Erin Marie Rouse, 19, Ayrshire, was attempting a left turn at 1:17 p.m. Thursday, June 12, near Park Street and Grand Avenue when her 1999 Buick went into the path of an oncoming 1995 truck driven by Chad Wayne Howard, 30, Spencer. The truck and Buick each sustained $2,500 damage.

* Margery Mae Fraseur, 84, Spencer, pulled into a parking space at 2:08 p.m. Thursday near Avera Family Care, then backed out and ran into a parked 2002 Pontiac. Fraseur's 1994 Dodge sustained $550 damage. The Pontiac sustained $850 damage.

* Orville Alvin Tewes, 77, Paullina, was pulling out of Gaul Dermatology at about 3:37 p.m. Thursday, June 12, when his 2003 truck went into the path of an oncoming 2003 Pontiac driven by Joshua Alan Thompson, 19, Fostoria. The Pontiac sustained $3,500 damage. The truck sustained $2,000 damage.

* Sara Fenske, 17, Harris, was in the process of turning into a parking lot at 10:59 a.m. Thursday near Barb's Corner when a 2008 Dodge Charger driven by Jacqueline Kalkowski, 43, Wisner, Neb., was attempting to pass. The collision caused $1,000 damage to Fenske's 1996 Park Avenue. The Dodge sustained $2,500 damage.

* John Michael Hale, 19, Spencer, was cited for failure to obey a stop sign following a crash at 4:14 p.m. Thursday, June 12, near East First Street and First Avenue East. Hale's 1996 Chevrolet SUV proceeded into the path of an oncoming 1997 Pontiac driven by Jonathan Craig Huitink, 26, Spencer.

* Jessica Ashley Mesler, 17, Cherokee, was cited for following too closely following a rear-end collision at 6:41 p.m. Friday, June 13, near 11th Street Southwest and Grand Plaza Drive. Mesler did not see a 2009 Toyota driven by Francine Helen Tutt, 35, Spencer, slowing for a red light. Mesler's 2002 Nissan sustained $500 damage. The Toyota sustained $1,500 damage.

* Marlene Eloise Bruce, 75, Spencer, was cited for failure to yield upon entering a highway following a crash at 3:51 p.m. Friday, June 13, near Seventh Avenue Southwest and 11th Street Southwest. She pulled out into the path of an oncoming 2004 Dodge driven by Amanda Lynn Clinton, 27, Estherville. The Dodge sustained $2,000 damage. Bruce's 2006 Chrysler sustained $2,000 damage.

* Police were called out for damage to a parked 2005 Chevrolet van at 8:32 a.m. Friday, June 13. The van, operated by Jon Skogen was damaged either at Wal-Mart or at the Plaza 8, where he was staying. Damage is estimated at $700.
