Stacy Nicks and Nathan Loyal

Dave and Maggie Nicks of Spencer announce the engagement of their daughter, Stacy, to Nathan Loyal, son of Steve and Vita Loyal of Solvang, Calif.

Stacy graduated from Spencer High School in 1997. She earned a journalism degree from Iowa State in 2001. While in school she played volleyball and then went on to play professional volleyball in Europe for two years. She is currently a representative for Wiley Publishing Co. and is a beach volleyball player on the AVP tour. Nathan grew up in Santa Ynez Valley. He graduated from high school in 1995. In 1997 he graduated from Cuesta College. While in high school and college he was on the swim team and continued on to participate in triathlons. This led to a love of bicycling and racing. He is now a professional cyclist, USA Cycling coach and bike fitting specialist.

The couple lives in Santa Monica, Calif. where they plan to stay after their July wedding in Santa Barbara.
