On Friday, the Clay County Law Enforcement Communications Center received a call from workers of the IC&E Railroad who were working at a railroad crossing just north of 350th St. on 240th Ave.
The workers observed a vehicle go around the crossing arms, which were down and the red lights were flashing. The workers stated that the vehicle almost was hit by a slow-moving train. The workers suppled a description of the driver and the vehicle as well as the license number of the vehicle.
Later the vehicle was located and the owner and driver of the vehicle admitted to driving around the crossing arms. It was then learned that he was driving while barred.
He was arrested at 6:30 p.m. Friday for driving while barred, no insurance, disobeying an official traffic control device and no registration. He was transported to the Clay County Jail.
