Traffic stop leads to drug charges

Tuesday, June 24, 2008
A traffic stop Saturday by a Clay County deputy landed three Spencer residents in the Clay County jail.

Deputies pulled over a vehicle driven by 33-year-old Travis Stoyke of Spencer at approximately 3:36 a.m. for a minor traffic violation. Upon investigation, it was found that the front female passenger, 24-year-old Amanda (Schaunaman) Schley of Spencer, was wanted on two Clay County arrest warrants for fifth-degree theft and had a $900 cash only bond. Schley was placed under arrest at that time.

Upon a search of the area of the car where Schley was sitting, the deputy located a baggie of marijuana in the glove box. Deputies determined that the marijuana was Stoyke's and he was placed under arrest. A search of Stoyke resulted in the deputy finding a marijuana pipe.

A drivers license check on the rear male passenger, 37-year-old Todd Bauerly of Spencer, revealed an arrest warrant on a $500 cash only bond out of Buena Vista County for contempt of court for not paying child support. Bauerly was then placed under arrest.

All three Subjects were transported to the Clay County Jail without incident.

Stoyke was charged with possession of a controlled substance (marijuana), a serious misdemeanor, and for possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. Schley was held on a $900 cash only bond. Bauerly was held on a $500 cash only bond and was later transported to Buena Vista County Jail.

This women Amanda "Schley" is no longer married to the Schley family and needs to change her name back to Schaunaman. Fully!
