Spencer Municipal Band season winds down

The Spencer Municipal Band will perform at 7:30 p.m. tonight in East Leach Park Band Shell. Additional performances will include Thursday, June 26 at East Leach Park Band Shell and Friday, July 4 at the Clay County Fairgrounds near the Sundholm Environmental Center as part of the Fourth of July Celebration. The Fourth of July performance begins at 8 p.m.


Milford Mission/Vision Meeting

The Milford Commercial Club's Mission/Vision meeting, "Today's Needs for Tomorrow's Community" will be held from 3-5 p.m., today at the Milford Community Center. Cory Peterson of Iowa State Extension will facilitate. Refreshments provided.


"Cruise In" Friday night

The monthly car "Cruise In" will be held from 6:30-9 p.m., Friday, June 20 at McDonald's parking lot in Spencer. There will be music, trophies, dash plaques and more. Get the old cars and pickups out and join in on the fun or stop by to enjoy the cars. Rain date will be June 27.

Three Dog Night coming to Wild Rose

Chuck Neron, formerly of Three Dog Night, will perform at Wild Rose Casino and Resort in Emmetsburg on June 20. This is an outdoor event, the gates will open at 6 p.m. and the concert will start at 8 p.m. The Palo Alto County Cattleman will be grilling steak sandwiches and beef burgers through the event.

Farmer's Market Wednesdays and Saturdays

The Spencer Area Farmer's Market will be held every Wednesday and Saturday, from 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., in the Southpark Mall parking lot. Come see the homegrown, fresh produce for sale.


VFW pancake breakfast

The Clay County VFW Post 3159 will host a pancake breakfast, from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Sunday, June 22. Pancakes, eggs, sausage and ham will be served with coffee or juice. Free will donation, the public is welcome.


Celiac Sprue Support Group

The Northwest Iowa Celiac Sprue support group will be having a general meeting from 2-4 p.m., Saturday, June 28 in the basement of the Spencer Hospital (Cedar Room).

Getting ready to 'Rock, Rumble and Roll'

Bikers, riders and drivers are preparing to Rock, Rumble and Roll on Saturday, June 21 in the Iowa Great Lakes Region. The poker run and concert benefits the Iowa RockNRoll Music Association Museum in Arnolds Park. Participants in the poker run will register at Okoboji Harley-Davidson between 10-11:30 a.m. The ride consists of five stops, including a Queen II ride. Prize money is $200 and the first 100 registered will receive a T-shirt. Several door prizes have been donated by area businesses. The day concludes with a concert in the Roof Garden at Arnolds Park. Headlining is the fabulous Generations of RockNRoll show. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5, with poker run participants admitted free. All proceeds from the event and raffle will go toward day-to-day operational expenses of the museum.
