Country's new breed of fun-loving, down-home boys will travel to the 2008 Clay County Fair to entertain fans on Sunday, Sept. 7.

Eric Church will open the show at 7:30 p.m. with superstar, Jason Aldean to follow.

A Macon, Ga. native, Aldean, made his big break on the country music scene in 2006 with the pulsing beat of his hit song "Hicktown." The popular tune helped make a relatively unknown artist one of today's hottest country stars. Aldean's self-titled album, "Jason Aldean," fostered additional chart-toppers including "Why" and "Amarillo Sky." The album earned him gold certification just 12 weeks after its debut release with "Why" reaching number one on the Country Billboard charts. Aldean wrapped-up his remarkable year by winning Top New Male Vocalist at the 2006 Academy of Country Music Awards.

Aldean recently released his second studio album, "Relentless," which was also certified gold in the fall of 2007. Three singles from the album have already graced the Billboard charts, "Johnny Cash," "Laughed Until We Cried," and "Relentless." The album debuted number one on the Top Country Album chart in the first week of its release.

Scheduled to open for Aldean at the 2008 Clay County Fair is Nashville newcomer, Eric Church. Church, of Granite Falls, N.C., is best known for his album, "Sinners Like Me," which includes the hits, "Guys Like Me," "How 'Bout You," and "Two Pink Lines" -- all having reached Top 20 on the Billboard Hot Country charts.

His straight forward and honest lyrics reflect that of the Merle Haggard and Waylon Jennings generation. Church's second album was released in 2008 with the new single, "His Kind of Money (My Kind of Love)."

Tickets for the Sunday, Sept. 7 show will be $24 grandstand reserved seating and $19 annex reserved seating.

* The 2008 Clay County Fair will run Saturday, Sept. 6 through Sunday, Sept. 14. Corbin Bleu and Drew Seeley have been announced to perform on Saturday, Sept.13 with The Beach Boys closing the fair on Sunday, Sept. 14. Other performers will be announced in the weeks to come. The first day for postmarks on mail-orders for grandstand event tickets will be June 23. Orders will be taken by phone beginning July 14. July 21 is the first day the box office will be open on the fairgrounds.
