Day Camp vacation Bible school

Four Spencer churches -- Bethany Lutheran Church, First Congregational Church, Trinity Lutheran Church and First Christian Church -- are teaming up with Ingham Okoboji Lutheran Bible Camps for VBS (vacation Bible school). This year's theme is By Faith with the memory verse from Hebrews 11:1. Camp counselors will be leading the events from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. June 9-12 at the First Congregational Church, 1212 1st Ave. West. Each child should bring a sack lunch for the day. Snacks and juice will be provided. There will be a program presented by the children at 5:15 p.m. Thursday, June 12 at the church. A maidrite & hot dog supper will follow in the Fellowship Hall. Day Camp is for children who will be in grades 1 through 6 in the fall of 2008. Each church has sent out registration forms. If a family has not received a registration form, please contact the office of the church you are affiliated with.

Hope Reformed Church to host VBS June 9-13

Get ready for "Outrigger Island: Living God's Unshakable Truth!" It will be a week of non-stop fun during Vacation Bible School at Hope Reformed Church in Spencer as youngsters learn what it means to be loved by God, hear about God's plan of salvation, enjoy tasty snacks, make funky crafts, and return home ragged after fun recreational games. Kids and their families are invited to finish the week with a free family luau at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, June 13. VBS runs from 8:30-11:45 a.m. June 9-13 at Home Reformed Church. Riggers must be 4 years old by June 1 and includes those ages up to entering the sixth grade. The cost is $5 per child or $10 per family, which is a non-refundable registration fee. Free transportation is available from Spencer area daycares.

Living Word providing rides to services

Living Word Outreach Ministries is providing rides to its 9:30 a.m. Sunday worship service and Kids Super Church; the 7 p.m. Wednesday midweek service for adults, youth group and kid's club.
