Oneota Park in Spencer will be going to the dogs on Sunday, June 8.
That afternoon, the Clay County Relay for Life "Out of the Blue" team is sponsoring a "Paws for the Cause" dog show.
Open to participants and spectators of all ages, this first annual event is scheduled from 2 - 4 p.m., with registration to begin at 1:30 p.m.
Activities will include a costume pet parade, an agility competition, retrieving and obedience contests and paw readings. In addition to trophies and prizes awarded for each, participants will have the opportunity to take professional photographs with their pets at the dog show.
Pet bandanas and snacks will also be available at Paws for the Cause.
All dogs entered in the show are required to have current shots and a leash, and owners will be responsible for their own pets.
Proceeds raised during the event will be donated to the American Cancer Society and Clay County Relay for Life. The 11th annual Clay County Relay for Life event is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. June 21 and take place on Dale Norton Field at Spencer High School until 6 a.m. June 22.
