The Spencer Chamber of Commerce team, made up of Chamber president Craig Wampler and Dan Heissel took top honors in the Clay County Cattlemen's Beef Eating Contest, held Tuesday at the Clay County Regional Events Center, in conjunction with the Business After Hours event hosted by the Cattlemen and Cabernet Catering. The pair ate 4.3 pounds of steak in less than 30 minutes, topping teams from local radio stations, and Cattlemen's groups from Clay, Dickinson and Emmet counties. The event highlights beef during May, which is Beef Month.
