Led by a young songwriter and charged by a powerful and artistic band, Gypsy Dave and The Stumpjumpers will be playing Spencer's Shaky Tree Coffee House at 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 7.
They have been compared to everyone from Arlo Guthrie and Neil Young to alternative country heroes Uncle Tupelo. But don't try to pigeonhole this group. To put it simply, they write and play what they feel. They leave their emotions hanging on the line between the tall oak trees in their yard for everyone to see.
Their songs run the gamut, from heartfelt and emotional, to light and at times even playful. It's a wild ride, and one people are glad to take. Because at its core it is all of our stories of which they sing: our hopes, our losses, our loves, and our laughter. They're our voice.
The bands debut album 'As the Stars Gather Light' is steadily rising up the roots music charts, and one can only hope to see their rise continue.
The group knows if they continue doing what they love, that the wheels will keep on turning. You can see this passion in a live Gypsy Dave performance, where you'll witness all of the energy and emotion that went into creating the song in the first place.
