Services for Mrs. Delores Sprague, 84, of Spencer, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 17, 2008, at Warner Funeral Home of Spencer. Rev. Paul Hansen will officiate the service.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m., Friday with the family present from 5-7 p.m. at the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.
Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer.
Dee passed away at the Spencer Hospital in Spencer on Tuesday, May 13, 2008.
Delores "Dee" Sprague, the daughter of Dale Gordon and Florence Henrietta (Perley) Thompson, was born Dec. 17, 1923, in Sioux City. Her childhood years were spent in Sloan, where she received her education. Dee continued her education at Wayne State Teacher's College, majoring in music and later attended Buena Vista College, where she received her bachelor's degree in education.
Dee taught school in the Spencer Elementary School System for over 50 years. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer, where she was a member of the Women's Circle. Dee also was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, NEA and Spencer Women of Today.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Dale and "Etta" Thompson; and a brother, Gordon Dale Thompson.
Dee is survived by one son, David Dale Sprague and his wife, Wanda of Parker, Colo.; one daughter, Jean Ann Bolton of Sheldon; her six grandchildren; and a great grandchild.
Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
