Avenue of Flags volunteers

The Avenue of Flags committee is in need of help. It takes a lot of work each year to prepare for Memorial Day. Before the display of flags can get put up, we need to find the over 1,200 pipes that are in the ground that the flags go into. We will start looking for the pipes Thursday, May 22 at Northlawn Cemetery at 6 p.m. After finding the 300 pipes there we will go to Riverside cemetery to look for the over 900 there. If not finished Thursday, we will work again on Friday, May 23 starting at 6 p.m. until done. The more helpers there are the easier it is and the faster it goes for all. All that is needed is a desire to help with this great project. A screw driver is helpful to find the pipe with and if you have one a metal detector that is a great help too.

* For more information please call Barb At 262-9462 during business or 262-1710 after hours.
