"The goal of the game was to get out of it with every player fully fit and we did that," said Spencer head coach Ben Macrae. "We rotated a bunch of players to keep everyone fresh for Thursday's game, and we're delighted to get the win."
All seven goals were scored in the first half with Spencer opening up a 3-0 lead before scoring the final two goals of the half.
"We basically closed the game up. We didn't try to push too much," Macrae said. "We had plenty of opportunities to score, but we just didn't put on in the back of the net."
Peter Walvatne opened the scoring two minutes into the contest, and the Tigers push the lead two three goals after a pair of headers.
Alex Toay knocked the first header into the net on an assist from defender Sam Brockshus 15 minutes in, and Carson Baethke added the second on a crossing pass from Taylor Chapman.
After Storm Lake had cut the lead to 3-2 with a pair of goals in one minute, Kevin Salton lengthened the Tigers' lead back to a pair with his first score of the season on an assist from Toay.
Baethke would add the final goal one minute before the half.
Spencer took 15 shots, six corner kicks and recorded three saves. Storm Lake had five shots on goal.
The Tigers, who play Unity Christian at 5 p.m. Thursday at Dale Norton Field, finish the regular season with a 12-2 record.
