The yearly event, which parents and grandparents are encouraged to attend involves seminars, a fishing contest, supper for the participants and prizes given to all registered youth.
Young fishermen are asked to bring their own pole and tackle, and arrive for registration betwen 4-5:15 p.m. near the Stolley's Park shelter house. Seminar stations including live bait rigging, bait casting, rods and reels, fly fishing, DNR fish identification and DNR safety will be conducted.
The fishing contest will be held from 6:15-7:15 p.m., concluding with supper provided by the Iowa Great Lakes Fishing Club.
Prizes will be given away beginning at 8:15 p.m. and all activities will conclude at 8:30 p.m.
The event is free to all participants.
