Spencer head coach Jim Tighe and the Tigers coaching staff will be holding a pair of instructional youth football camps this summer from 8-10:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 4 through Friday, Aug. 8 at the Spencer High School Practice Complex for students in grades 3-8. In an effort to provide better instruction, the camp will be separated into two groups as it was last year. Kids in grades 3-6 will participate from 8-9:30 a.m. and kids in grades 7-8 will participate from 9-10:30 a.m. The program will include individual fundamental instruction by position, team concepts and specialty techniques, along with physical and mental preparation. Cost of the camp, which includes instruction and a camp t-shirt, is $40 per camper, or $70 for two siblings. Registrations will be accepted through the first day of camp if necessary, but athletes are encouraged to register by Friday, July 18 to guarantee a camp t-shirt on the first day of the camp. Registration forms have been distributed at all Spencer schools. Additional registration forms can be picked up at the high school, the middle school or the central office.
