NAA Board Meeting

The May meeting of the Northwest Aging Association Board of Directors will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 14 in the conference room at the Central Office, 714 10th Ave. E. in Spencer.


60th wedding anniversary

Jack and Ann King will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on May 16. Their children request no gifts, but cards may be sent to the couple at: 2221 N. Kimball; Building 5, Apartment 5; Mitchell, S.D. 57301.


Sunday Ballroom Dancing

There will be no Sunday Ballroom Dancing at the Spencer Area Activity Center on May 4. Dances will resume Sunday, June 1 from 2-5 p.m. with music by Delmer Dahnke. The public is invited.


SHS 20-year reunion

Did you graduate from Spencer in 1988? Save the date -- Aug. 2, 2008 -- for a 20-year class reunion.

Aging Board of Directors election

The election for the Clay County Council on Aging (Senior Center) Board of Directors will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, May 5 at the Spencer Area Activity Center. All Clay County citizens over the age of 50 are encouraged to vote. Dennis Van Vickle is running and there are two vacancies to fill.


AARP chapter to meet

The local chapter of AARP will meet Monday, May 12 at the Spencer Area Activity Center. The Board will meet at 9 a.m. and the program will begin at 10 a.m. Fire Chief Duncan will be the featured speaker. All Seniors are invited to this meeting.


Hilltopper Reunion in July

The Hilltopper Reunion for Gillett Grove School classes 1924-196 will take place on Saturday, July 12 at Hap Ketelsen Community Center, 203 N. Main St., in Everly. Social hour will run from 5:30-6:30 p.m. with a banquet served at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $15 per person which includes the meal, party room, gratuities and dues. Replies are requested by May 1.
