The first race of the season on Tuesday, June 17 will feature four IMCA classes with modifieds, 360 modifieds, stock and hobby stocks.
A special Friday night, July 4 race will feature the Late Models of the World Dirt Racing League (WDRL) with a support class of 360 sprints.
World Dirt Racing League (WDRL) founder Jim Wilson, of Gilman, Mo., explained that the WDRL will be racing at Eagle, Neb., the night before, and expects to bring late model series regulars, including Eric Pember, of Pittsville, Wisc.; two-time WDRL champion Denny Eckrich, of Tiffin, Iowa; Dave Eckrich, and Chad Simpson, both of Oxford, Iowa; along with 2007 Chase Graphics Rookie of the Year John Kaanata, of Elk Mound, Wisconsin to the Clay County Fairgrounds race. Wilson added that he also expects 2008 Chase Graphics contenders Jeremy Grady, of Story City, Iowa, and Frank Heckenast, Jr, of Orland Park, Ill., along with many other drivers.
More information about the WDRL is available at www.worldraceleague.com
The third scheduled race of the season will be on Tuesday night, July 22 and will also feature the four IMCA classes with modifieds, 360 modifieds, stocks and hobby stocks.
Fair-week racing will include the second year of the unparalleled World of Outlaws "Greatest Show on Dirt," Wednesday, Sept. 10.
The World of Outlaws drivers, who were first to use the new track last year, lauded praise to the designers and the condition of the oval. The races also brought near-capacity crowds to the grandstand. Current World of Outlaws point leaders Craig Dollansky marveled at the track after the 2007 race at the Clay County Fair and stated "it's a great track to race on. It's just beautiful."
On Thursday, Sept. 11, NASCAR driver Kenny Wallace -- a NASCAR driver who won the very first race he ever entered as the youngest member of a racing family, in 1982 -- will be joining the modified field to race. Wallace has over 300 starts in the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series, with three poles, six top-five, and 27 top-10 finishes on his resume.
Wallace's most well-known finish probably came when he pushed the late great Dale Earnhardt to his final Cup victory at Talladega in 2000, in a thrilling last lap shootout.
The support class for the Thursday, Sept. 11 race will be hobby stocks.
Additional information including ticket prices and availability will be announced on May 12.
