Lutheran World Relief Rummage Sale

Bethany Lutheran Church will host a rummage sale to benefit Lutheran World Relief from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. today in the church basement dining room.

Celiac Sprue group to meet today

The Northwest Iowa Celiac Sprue support group will have a general meeting from 2-4 p.m. today in the Cedar Room at Spencer Hospital.

Democrats to hold district convention

Democrats from Iowa's 32 western counties are meeting in Council Bluffs today to take part in the state's Fifth Congressional District Convention. The event will be in Ballroom A at the Mid-America Center, located at One Arena Way, beginning at 9 a.m. U.S. Sen. Tom Harkin and Iowa Lt. Gov. Patty Judge are scheduled to make appearances along with Fifth District Congressional candidate Rob Hubler and Iowa Senate Majority Leader Mike Gronstal, who will deliver the convention's keynote address.

Garage, bake sale to benefit Relay team

A garage sale and bake sale, both with many items, will be held Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3 at 806 E. 17 St., Spencer. Proceeds raised during both will benefit Krile's Drivers, a Clay County Relay for Life team.

Training for babysitters planned

A six-hour babysitter's training program will be held Saturday, May 3 at First Congregational Church, Spencer.

VFW pancake breakfast

The Clay County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3159 will host a pancake breakfast with eggs, sausage or ham, coffee and juice from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 27. A free-will donation will be accepted. The public is welcome.

Motorcycle show

The Southpark Mall will host its ninth annual motorcycle show through Sunday. There will be a variety of motorcycles and motorcycle vendor displays on hand.
