Graveside services for Mr. Albert Johnson, 87, of Spencer, were held Monday, April 14, 2008, at North Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery of Spencer.

Interment took place at North Lawn Memorial Park in Spencer.

Albert passed away Friday, April 11, 2008, at Spencer Hospital.

Albert Fred Johnson, the son of Fred and Ella (Molter) Johnson, was born Dec. 19, 1920, in Hartley. His childhood years were spent in Hartley, where he received his education. Following his schooling, Albert entered the military and served with the U.S. Army during WWII from 1943 until his honorable discharge in 1946.

Albert returned to rural Spencer, from his military duty in 1946, where he was a cattleman and reluctant farmer for many years. He was a past member of Zion Methodist Church in rural Spencer. He was also active in the VFW.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Letha Siedsma, and Richard and his wife, Beatrice Johnson.

Albert is survived by his niece, Janice Kennedy of Wahpeton, and nephew, Thomas Siedsma of Greenfield, Minn.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
