* Daniel Todd Erickson, 38, Ruthven, was charged with no valid drivers license and no insurance following a stop at 10:55 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Highway 18 and county road M54. He was held in jail to appear before a magistrate.
* A 16-year-old Spencer male charged with fifth-degree at 10:25 p.m. Saturday in Wal-Mart. He was released to parents.
* A 17-year-old male from Pocahontas, a 16-year-old male from Spencer, 18-year-old Ronald Toebes, of Spencer, and 18-year-old Samuel Mugge, of Spencer, were all charged with possession of alcohol under the legal age at 1:53 a.m. Sunday. The juveniles were released to parents and the adults were released on police citations.
* Jarred Carpenter, 20, Mason City, was charged with first-offense operating while intoxicated, open container and possession alcohol under legal age. Joshua Roosa, 21, Greene, was charged with contributing to minors and open containers. They were arrested at 11:55 p.m. Sunday near Sixth Avenue East and East Third Street. They were both turned over to the Clay County Jailer.
* Jeremiah Gillis, 25, Spencer, was charged with violation of protective order at 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, April 9. He was placed in the Clay County Jail.
ACCIDENTS
* Leslie John Moore, 88, Terril, and Sandra Lee Shurte, 62, Jefferson, S.D., were both northbound at 1:13 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, in the 1900 block of Highway Boulevard. Each driver claims the other driver drifted into the neighboring lane of traffic, causing a collision. Moore's 1997 Buick sustained $150 damage. Shurte's 2003 Chevrolet van sustained $900 damage.
* Two cars were simultaneously backing out of driveways at about 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, when they collided in the 500 block of West 11th Street. A 1998 Dodge van driven by Mary Jo Ellenwood, 54, Spencer, sustained $600 damage. A 2000 Chrysler van driven by Linda Lee Gaston, 60, Spencer, sustained $800 damage.
* Two vehicles were southbound near South Grand Avenue and 11th Street Southeast when a 1997 Mercury driven by Donneta Fay Menke, 40, Spencer, was hit from behind by a Jon Fitzgerald McComb, 21, Royal. The Mercury sustained $500 damage. The 1997 Oldsmobile driven by McComb sustained $30 damage. The mishap took place at 4:26 p.m. Thursday.
* Gregory Alan Foote, 49, Spencer, was traveling at 6:41 a.m. Friday in the 2100 block of West 18th Street when a deer ran out in front of his 2007 Chevrolet. The vehicle sustained $1,500 damage.
* Jeryl Lynn MacConnell, 62, Spencer, was westbound at 9:49 a.m. Saturday near the 200 block of East Eighth Street when a 2004 Buick began a left turn and went into her lane of traffic. The collision caused $1,500 damage to MacConnell's 1993 Oldsmobile. The Buick, driven by Michele Margaret Erickson, 53, Estherville, sustained $2,500 damage.
