The Iowa Farm Bureau, in association with your local Economic Development group, is bringing the Renew Rural Iowa Business Success Seminar to your area of the state at from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., today at the Clay County Events Center at no cost.

GriefShare tonight

Warner Funeral Home is sponsoring GriefShare, a special weekly grief recovery support group for people grieving the death of someone close. The group will meet at 7 p.m. tonight at the Spencer Area Activity Center (Senior Center), 1900 North Grand Avenue, Spencer, Iowa. The topic for this week is "The Journey of Grief." Each GriefShare DVD features some of the nation's foremost experts on grief recovery topics. It is combined with a discussion time to allow group participants to talk about the content of the seminar and about how they are dealing with the death of their loved one.

Sioux Central College Planning session

The Sioux Central Community School District guidance office is hosting a free presentation on college planning for high school juniors and their parents. The presentation will be led by a representative from the Iowa Student Loan College Access Network at 6:30 p.m., today in the media center. Topics will include: Preparing for college, what to consider when choosing a college, how to compare colleges, what to look for and ask during campus visits, and an overview of the financial aid process.

Rose sales

Kiwanis After Five is conducting their annual rose sale. Orders can be made through April 7 by contacting any club member or at Northwest Federal and Farmers Bank. They are $15 a dozen and will be delivered to the person you choose on April 18. Proceeds will benefit youth.

Sioux Central FFA Chapter fundraiser

Sioux Central FFA will host a fundraiser from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Friday, April 4 at the Sioux Rapids Legion Hall. There will be a pancake supper at a cost of $5, a silent auction, and a labor auction.

Kindergarten Round-up

Sacred Heart School will host its Pre-K/Kindergarten Round-up for parents from 7-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 8. The event is for parents, not children.

Grand Slam Sportscard Show

The Grand Slam Sportscard Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, April 5 at the Southpark Mall. Collectors and sports fans will enjoy a variety of sportscards and collectibles on display to buy, sell or trade.

Cartwright Brothers to play fundraiser

Team F.B.I., a Dickinson County Relay for Life team is excited to announce The Cartwright Brothers appearing at Softail Saloon and Grill in Superior, April 5 at 9:30 p.m. The boys are back in town and are sure to provide an exciting evening of fun, music and lots of laughs too! According to Corey Moss of VH1 TV "...the Cartwright Brothers are to Lake Okoboji, as Jimmy Buffet is to Key West..."
The fundraiser will benefit the Dickinson County Relay and Team FBI...Raffle tickets and silent auction tickets will also be available.

ILCC Emergency

Response Training Center

Iowa Lakes Community College will be hosting an open house for its new Regional Emergency Response Training Center from 3-4:30 p.m. Saturday, April 5 at the ILCC Emmetsburg campus cafeteria. A short program will take place at 3:30 p.m.
