Kick-off meeting scheduled for Willow Creek project

Thursday, April 3, 2008
Last spring, an informational meeting was held at Rossie to discuss the possibility of developing a water testing program to determine the water quality of the Willow Creek. Due to impressive interest of the residents living in the watershed who attended the meeting, the Clay County Soil and Water Conservation District, in conjunction with the Clay County Iowa State University Extension Service, was able to secure a grant to complete a watershed assessment.

The meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m., Wednesday, April 9 at the Rossie Community Room. Light refreshments will be served.

The Clay County SWCD is inviting the public to a meeting to explain what will be going on with the project and what information may be asked through the assessment process. Deputy Secretary of Agriculture and Acting Director of the Division of Soil Conservation, Karey Claghorn will be presenting a check to the District and Kristine Binder will be introduced as the project coordinator.
