The KFC® Restaurant at 913 S. Grand Ave. in Spencer has been named "Best of the Best" in KFC operations and customer service. The award-winning restaurant is managed by Bryan Sebastian and Amy Beck.
The 2007 honors marks the third straight year that the Spencer store has been named Best of the Best, which according to Sebastian is a credit to his staff. For the first time, the local chain was ranked among the nation's top 10 KFCs, finishing eighth nationally.

The Spirit Lake KFC/Long John Silver's outlet also made the Best of the Best list for the first time. Sebastian manages both sites.
In order to earn KFC's "Best of the Best" designation, a restaurant must have overall operational excellence and the highest scores on a standard set of Customer Mania measurements called C.H.A.M.P.S. These measurements evaluate each restaurant in six key areas of operation - Cleanliness, Hospitality, Accuracy, Maintenance, Product Quality, and Speed of Service. Only about 60 restaurants nationwide receive this honor.
"Being named 'Best of the Best' is an accomplishment that marks the highest honor a KFC team can achieve," said Harvey Brownlee, chief operating officer, KFC Corporation. "Bryan and Amy and their employees can take great pride in this achievement because it means they are doing things 'The Colonel's Way' by having the highest standards for restaurant operations and preparing delicious, high quality meals for each customer, every day."
