Jerri L. (Gilmore) Shuberg, 57, of Maxwell, passed away Thursday March 13, 2008, in the Israel Family Hospice House of Ames, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday March 22, 2008, at the First Lutheran Church, Sioux Rapids. Rev. Tonna Parsons will officiate.
Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery, Sioux Rapids.
There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the family which will be given to the Israel Family Hospice House of Ames, and also the First Lutheran Church of Sioux Rapids.
Jerri was born on June 6, 1950, in Spencer, to Von and Darlene (Fanning) Brower. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in Spencer, Iowa through the eighth grade and then attended Spencer High School her freshman year. Following this year, her family moved to California where she finished her schooling. In 1970 she moved back to the Spencer area and married Charlie Gilmore on March 6, 1974. In 1992 she became a Certified Nurses Aide and worked in Long Term Care for many years. On April 14, 2001, she married Kevin Shuberg in Sioux Falls, S.D., after a 10 year courtship.
She was preceded in death by her father, Von Brower.
Jerri is survived by her husband, Kevin; three daughters: Nancy Binder and her husband, Zac, of Rembrandt, Heidi Gilmore and her fiancÚ, Mason Drefke of Greenville, and Lynette Gilmore and her fiancÚ, Tim Griffin, of Spencer; a son, John Gilmore and his wife, Shelly, of Sioux Rapids; step-sons: Sam Shuberg and his wife, Lisa, of Ixonia, Wis., and Ben Shuberg and his wife, Emily, of Cherokee; step-daughter, Heidi Shuberg of Milford; 11 grandchildren; parents, Darlene and Ben Griffiths; and a brother, Terry Brower and his wife, Sharon, of Spencer.
