"American Doll Quilts" is the current exhibit at Parker Museum through Friday, March 28. The main feature of the exhibit is 60-plus doll quilts constructed by local quilters who participated in classes offered at Quilts on Grand, Spencer. The quilt patterns are based on the books American Doll Quilts and Prairie Children and Their Quilts written by Kathleen Tracy. These are new quilts inspired by quilt designs from the past and tell the story of quilting history in America.
Other exhibits at the museum include a collection of red and white enamelware, kitchen utensils and textiles loaned by Becky Rouse of rural Ruthven. Admission to the museum during this special exhibit will be a suggested donation of $3.
Parker Museum is located at 300 E. Third St. in Spencer. Normal business hours are Tuesday-Friday, 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
