Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Schwarck, 88, of Spencer, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 7, 2008, at Warner Chapel of Spencer. Rev. Paul Hansen will officiate the service.

Visitation will take place one hour prior to the services at the chapel.

Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery of Spencer.

Mary passed away Saturday, March 1, 2008, at St. Luke Lutheran Home of Spencer.

Mary Lorraine Schwarck, the daughter of Ralph Woodward and Levon (Campbell) Woodward, was born February 20, 1920, in Sibley. She graduated from high school at Dallas Center in 1937.

On Oct. 10, 1942, she married Paul Frank Schwarck in Battle Creek, Mich., shortly before he was transferred to the Southwest Pacific during WWII. Mary returned to Spencer, where she was employed at Northwest Bell Telephone. She later held various positions at Clay County Department of Social Services, and the Northwest Iowa Alcohol Drug Treatment Unit. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer, and the Daughter of the American Revolution.

She was preceded in death by her brother, James Woodward; and her husband, Paul.

Mary is survived by her son, John Schwarck and his wife, Carol of Columbus, Ohio; a daughter, Missy Reedy and her husband, Tom of Northbrook, Ill.; five grandchildren; and her brother-in-law, Bill Schwarck and his wife, Ruth of Spencer.
