Cosmetic and reconstructive surgeon Steven Evelhoch, M.D., D.D.S., has created a new medical practice, known as Renew Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery, P.C., which will provide reconstructive, cosmetic and oral surgery.

Evelhoch's practice will focus on cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, including facial cosmetic surgery, breast augmentation and lifts, liposuction, and tummy tucks as well as reconstructive surgery for patients who have undergone treatment for head and neck cancers. Evelhoch is also an oral and maxillofacial surgeon.

Evelhoch's office is located in the Spencer Medical Arts Building which also houses Avera Health-Spencer Family Care, located at 116 E. 11th Street, Suite 203. His office can be reached at 264-8390 or toll-free at 1-877-264-8394.

A native of Wisconsin, Evelhoch was drawn to northwest Iowa as he enjoys outdoor recreational activities as well as small town living.

"I earned all my degrees from Creighton University in Omaha, attending Creighton for my undergraduate studies, dental school and medical school," explained Evelhoch. "During that time I vacationed in the Lakes area several times and became familiar with northwest Iowa. I'm not a big city guy. I enjoy Midwestern people and the opportunity for outdoor activities."

Evelhoch initially graduated from Creighton University School of Dentistry in 1984 and practiced general dentistry in his home state of Wisconsin for 12 years. "During that time I saw a real need for cosmetic and reconstructive surgeons so I decided to go back to medical school," he explained.

For the next decade, Evelhoch was busy obtaining an extensive education as well as serving the United States as a Commander in the Navy Reserve. He served on the U.S.S. George Washington during the winter and spring of 2003 and currently is an active reserve.

Evelhoch competed three medical residencies. During his residency at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, he obtained certification in Anesthesiology. He was chief resident at the Medical University of South Carolina where he was certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Michigan.

Evelhoch completed a fellowship at the Institute of Facial and Cosmetic Surgery where he was certified in Full Body Cosmetic Surgery. He completed a second fellowship at the University of Michigan where he was certified in Microvascular Surgery and Oncologic Head and Neck Reconstructive Surgery. He also taught while at the University of Michigan and currently teaches one day each week at the University of Minnesota.
