Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Krumm, 86, of Spencer, took place Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, at First English Lutheran Church of Spencer. Rev. Paul Kaldahl officiated the service.

Interment took place at Riverside Cemetery of Spencer.

Ida passed away Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at St. Luke Lutheran Home of Spencer.

Ida Emma Krumm, the daughter of Melvin and Rose (Piehl) Saxby, was born April 9, 1921, in Brookings County, near Arlington, S.D. Her childhood years were spent in the Peterson, area where she received her education, graduating from Peterson High School in 1940. Following graduation she worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Cherokee, for 12 years.

Ida married Orville H. Krumm on June 25, 1946, in Cherokee. Following their marriage they moved to Minneapolis, Minn. where they lived for a short time before moving to Spencer. Initially, Ida was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church of Spencer until she transferred membership to the First English Lutheran Church. Following the death of her husband, she worked for the next 24 years at the Hotel in Spencer until her retirement in 2006. She was also a member of Spencer's Business Professional Women organization and was presented the Woman of The Year Award in 1995.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orville; two sisters: Alnora and Velma; and two brothers: Steve and Raymond.

Ida is survived by her sister, Vera Saxby of Spencer; one brother, Orville Saxby of Cherokee; three daughters: Sandy Zinn of Albuquerque, N.M., Judy Christensen of Estherville, Susan Depew of Tucson, Ariz.; two sons: Fred Krumm of Beaufort, S.C., Bill Krumm of Tucson, Ariz.; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
