Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Nelson, 77, of Spencer, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, at Christ the King Lutheran Church of Spencer. Rev. Michael Sharp will officiate the service.

Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday with the family present from 2-4 p.m. at the Warner Funeral Home of Spencer.

Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery of Spencer.

Margaret passed away Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at home.

Margaret Mary Nelson, the daughter of Charles T. and Sopha Miller Kiley, was born Aug. 20, 1930, in DeWitt County, Ill. Her childhood years were spent in the Gillett Grove, area, where she received her education, graduating from Gillett Grove High School. She continued her education at Buena Vista College in Storm Lake and later did her post graduate studies in Greeley, CO. Following her schooling, she taught school.

Margaret married Charles Nelson on Nov. 27, 1957, in Marathon. Following their marriage, she continued to teach for a total of 11 years. She later worked at the Deli Department at Super Value for 17 years. She was a member of the Christ The King Lutheran Church in Spencer. She was also a past member of the Dickens Commercial Club and the Dickens Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Paul and Charles; and a sister, Eileen Johnson; and son-in-law, Kevin Moss.

Margaret is survived by her son, Carl "Andy" Nelson of Spencer; daughter-in-law, Sue Nelson of Spencer; a daughter, Peggy Ann Moss of Eagen, Minn.; five grandchildren; one sister, Gertrude Sutherland of Dickens; and two brothers: Edwin Kiley and his wife, Bev of Duedin, Fla., and Larry Kiley and his wife, Joyce of Platsville, Colo.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
