Rev. Gene Robert Johnson

Rev. Gene Robert Johnson, 85, passed away Monday, Feb. 18, 2008, at his home in Jacksonville, N.C.

The family will receive friends from 8:15-9:15 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008, at Johnson Funeral Home, Jacksonville, N.C. and from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at Calvary Baptist Church, New Bern, N.C., with funeral services at 11 a.m., with Rev. Bill Winegard officiating.

Rev. Johnson was a retired missionary and a member of Temple Baptist Church in Jacksonville, N.C.

He is survived by his two sons: Rev. Paul Robert Johnson of Jacksonville, N.C., and Rev. Larry Gene Johnson of Waxahachie, Texas; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
