Funeral services for Gaylord Vogt, 75, of Spencer, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Spencer. Rev. Robert Brown will officiate the service.

Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery of Spencer.

There will be no vigil services.

Military services will be conducted by Glen Pedersen Post No. 1 - American Legion following the graveside services.

Gaylord passed away Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008, at Longhouse Residence of Spencer.

Gaylord Lyle Vogt, the son of William Lyle and Elna (Puck) Vogt, was born March 9, 1932, in Moneta. He grew up in Spencer, graduating from Spencer High School in 1949. He attended college for two years and then served four years in the United States Navy.

Gaylord married Donna Valdahl on June 28, 1956, in Spencer. Following their marriage, they continued to live in Spencer, where he worked as a city letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for 30 years, until his retirement in 1990. He entered Longhouse Residence in September of 2001. Gaylord attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Gaylord is survived by his wife, Donna of Spencer; his three children: Thomas Vogt and his wife, Melanie of Ft. Dodge, Julie Jindrich and her husband, Larry of McCall, Idaho, and Joe Vogt and his wife, Karen of Lees Summit, Mo.; six grandchildren; and one brother, Bob Vogt and his wife, Kris of Sioux City.

Warner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
