Funeral services for Wilmer H. Lundt, 89, of Sheldon, will take place at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008, at Warner Chapel of Spencer. Rev. David Moore will officiate the service.

Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery of Spencer.

Lundt passed away at the Sanford Senior Care Center in Sheldon, Iowa on Friday, Feb. 8, 2008.

Wilmer H. Lundt, the son of Waldo and Olga (Walstrom) Lundt, was born September 15, 1918, in Linn Grove. His childhood years were spent in Linn Grove, where he received his education, graduating from Linn Grove High School. Following high school, he attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake for 1 year and later Iowa State University in Ames for 2 years.

Wilmer married Joyce Johnson on July 30, 1952, in Jackson, Minn. Following their marriage, they lived in Greenville, where he worked at the grain elevator, drove a truck and later moved to the farm in 1964. He continued working at the elevator and farming, until his retirement in 1972. He was a member of the Baptist Church in Cherokee.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one daughter, Jane Lundt.

Wilmer is survived by his wife, Joyce of Sheldon; children: W. Max Lundt and his wife, Lynn of Spirit Lake, Judy Hoogeveen and her husband, Dean of Hull, W. John Lundt Milford, Joan Holles and her husband, Steve of Sheldon, and Jay L. Lundt and wife, Heidi of Omaha, Neb.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Ralph Lundt of Sioux Rapids; and a sister, Velma Schomburg of Spirit Lake.

Arrangements are being handled by Warner Funeral Home of Spencer.
