Corinne (Ripple) Stevenson, 83, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008, after battling complications from a stroke.

Services will be held on Monday, Jan. 28, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in San Jose.

She spent a lifetime raising three sons and caring for her partner and husband of 50 years, Robert Stevenson, who preceded her in death in 1998.

Corinne was born to Faye and Ronald Ripple in Smithland, and graduated from Spencer High School in 1942. Shortly after she wrote advertising copy for KICD radio in Spencer, she took off on an adventure that included a stop in Dayton, Ohio before she ended up in San Jose, Calif., where she lived the rest of her years. She met Robert through a blind date arranged by her friend and his sister, Dot, once Robert returned from his naval duties during WWII. Robert and Corinne were married on June 6, 1946, in San Jose and went on to raise children.

Corinne is survived by her sister, Darlene Kenison and her husband, Jack of Rogers, Ark.; sister-in-law, Dorothy "Dot" Thatcher of Elk Grove, Calif.; sons: Ron and his wife, Lucia of Roseville, Calif., Mark of Morgan Hill, and Rich and his wife, Alberta of Vallejo, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.
