Funeral services for Jody Clark, 58, of Greenville, were held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, at Grace Congregational Church of Greenville. Rev. Tonna Parsons officiated the service.
Interment took place at Liberty Cemetery of Greenville.
Jody passed away Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008, at St. Luke Lutheran Home of Spencer.
Jolene (Jody) Ruth (Meyer) Clark, the daughter of Donald and Ruth (Beatrice) Meyer, was born March 5, 1949, in Spencer. She spent her early years growing up near Dickens, graduating in 1967 from South Clay High School in Gillett Grove.
Jody was married July 12, 1970, to Dale J. Clark and was a resident of Greenville for the past 37 years. Jody served as mayor of Greenville from 2000 until her death. She was active in the Greenville and surrounding communities and was a published poet and the unofficial Greenville historian.
She was preceded in death by two premature sons: John Dale and Matt William; parents, Donald and Ruth (Beatrice) Meyer; and one brother, Samuel J. Meyer.
Jody is survived by her son, Mark; his father, Dale Clark; seven- year soul mate, Roger Knudtson of Sioux Rapids; sisters: Donna Bettencourt and husband, Bud of Round Mountain, Nevada, and Nancy Leppert and husband, Larry of Dickens; and brothers: Kendall Meyer and wife, Rosamary of Spencer, Chuck Meyer and wife, Sue of Spencer, Randy Meyer and wife, Angie of Johnston, and Donnie Meyer and wife, Nancy of Missouri.
Warner Funeral Home of Spencer was in charge of arrangements.
