Clair E. Diehl, 80, of Spencer, passed away Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008 at the Spencer Hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 7, 2008, at the Dayton Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m., Sunday at the Dayton Funeral Home in Dayton.
Clair Eugene Diehl was born on Oct. 26, 1927, in York, Penn., the son of Paul and Rosie (Markey) Diehl. He attended schools in the area of his birth, graduating after the eighth grade. Clair was united in marriage to Lucille Wilson on Jan. 15, 1960, in Winterhaven, Calif. The couple lived in southern California until moving to Wisconsin in 1977. They lived in various places in the Midwest before moving to Dayton in 1991. Clair owned and operated Diehl's Floor Coverings.
Following Lucille's passing in 1999, Clair married Lois Miller in Laurens. The couple moved to Spencer in 2007.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lucille Diehl; and his daughter in law, Nicole (Gribble) Diehl.
Clair is survived by his wife, Lois of Spencer; children: Larry Diehl and wife, Linda of Henderson, Nevada, Sharon Stoyer and husband, Robert of California, Paul "Doug" Diehl and wife, Connie of Florida, Zona Smith and husband, Calvin of Harcourt, David Diehl and wife, Tina of Dayton, and Rosie Stoline and husband, Chad of Dana; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Gene Diehl and wife, Anne of York, Penn.
