Marlo D. Tuttle, 83, of Durant, passed away on Monday, Dec. 31, 2007, in his home.

In accordance with Marlo's wishes his body has been donated to The University of Iowa Medical School. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Marlo was born Nov. 24, 1924, to Henry and Clara (Hvam) Tuttle in Mitchell, S.D. He married Kathryn.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army, during WWII in the European Theatre.

Marlo worked for Eagle's Supermarket as a butcher until 1974, when he began working for Jeff's Supermarket in Durant, where he worked until retiring.He was a member of the meat cutter's union.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his sister, Yvonne Pullen; his brother, Edward Tuttle; and infant brother, Walter Tuttle.

Marlo is survived by his two daughters: Mary Campbell and her husband, Larry Campbell of Muscatine, and Amanda Bland and her husband, Kevin of Durant; his five sons: Andy Tuttle of Durant, Mike Tuttle and his wife, Penny of Durant, Roger Tuttle and his wife, Lynn of Durant, Jeff Tuttle of Marion, and Earl "Pat" Tuttle of Lake Mills; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; three sisters: Lorraine Birchard of Ruthven, Karoline and her husband, Lyle of Airedale, and Judy McClain and her husband, Marlyn of Council Bluffs; and his two brothers: Frances "Buzz" and his wife, Tootie of Omaha, Neb., and David and his wife DeeAnn of Council Bluffs.
