Allyson and Scott McCarty

Scott McCarty and Allyson Carlson, both of Winfield, were united in marriage on July 28, 2007, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Mount Pleasant. Father Nick Adams officiated the 3 p.m. ceremony. A reception was held at Iowa Wesleyan College following the ceremony.

Scott is the son of Kelly and Barb McCarty of Spencer, and Allyson is the daughter of Jim and Colleen Carlson of Winfield.

Michael McCarty, brother of the groom was the best man. Groomsmen were: Devin VanDenBroeke, Steve Spory, Nick Dau, Chris Kern and Andy Pick -- friends of the couple. Melanie Carlson, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were: Rachel Fichter, Darrin Gregory, Laura Howe, Mary Brooks and Ashley Harris -- friends of the couple.

Ushers were: Nathan Carlson, Ross Hunt, Casey Howe and Josh Ludwig -- all friends of the couple.

The couple resides in Winfield. Scott teaches 9-12 Spanish, is an assistant football coach, head baseball coach, and the athletic director for the Winfield-Mt. Union School District. Allyson works at the Twin Lakes Golf & Country Club.
