Funeral services for Robert Dean Noble, 77, of Hartley, were held Wednesday, December 26, 2007, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Hartley. Rev. David Ericksen officiated the service.

Interment took place at Ocheyedan Township Cemetery of Ocheyedan.

Robert passed away December 22, 2007, at Hartley Senior Wellness Center.

Robert Dean Noble, the son of Roy and Christine (Johnson) Noble, was born on June 5, 1930, in Ocheyedan. He attended country school through the eighth grade, and then assisted his father on the family farm.

On Nov. 19, 1950, Robert was united in marriage to Arlene Haemker at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ocheyedan. Following their marriage the couple farmed for several years and in 1956 moved to Hartley, where Robert was employed by the Hartley Creamery. Later he worked for several farmers, Brinkert Feed and the co-op elevator. In 1974 he began working at Eaton Corporation in Spencer until he retired in 1992. In 1999 he became ill and remained at home until 2001 when he became a resident at the Hartley Senior Wellness Center and in 2003 moved to the Mann Wing.

Robert was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Robert is survived by his wife, Arlene; two daughters: Judy Webber and husband, Keith of Hartley, and Sandra Breidinger, and husband, Ed of Spencer; one son, Gary Noble and wife, Kathi of Hartley; five grandsons; one granddaughter; one step-grandson; two step-granddaughters; seven step-great grandchildren; two brothers: Harvey Noble of Hendricks, Minn., and Donald Noble and wife, JoAnn of Ocheyedan; one sister, Velda Joens of Lake Park; a sister-in-law: Helen Loeschen and husband, Mel of Ocheyedan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Lester; sister, Viola Hinders; three step grandchildren; two sister-in-laws; and three brother-in-laws.
