Funeral services for Mrs. Phyllis Wilken, 83, of Spencer, formerly of Everly, will be held at 10:30 a.m., today, Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, at United Methodist Church of Everly. Rev. Annette K.Ruhs Kruse.

There will be no visitation.

Interment will take place at Lone Tree Cemetery of Everly.

Phyllis passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, at Community Memorial Health Center of Hartley.

Phyllis Fae Wilken, the daughter of Elmer and Edith (Loveless) Wilson, was born Jan. 1, 1924, in Paton. She received her early education and graduated from the Paton High School. She attended and graduated from Buena Vista College in Storm Lake.

Phyllis married Herman "Sonny" Wilken on Oct. 1, 1944, in Storm Lake. Following their marriage, she was a music teacher in public schools. After retiring from teaching in 1970, Phyllis gave piano lessons to many students in Everly. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Everly where she also taught Sunday School, Federated Women's Club in Everly and Garden Club in Spencer.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sonny on Sept. 25, 2004; and daughter, Reatha De Groot.

Phyllis is survived by her two daughters: Chlea Rafdal and husband, Garwin of Everly, and Vikki Beinke and husband, Dennis of Wilton; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and son-in-law, Don De Groot, of Lakeland, Colo.

Warner Funeral Home of Everly is in charge of arrangements.
