Funeral services for Mr. Wayne Rogne, 89, of Spencer, formerly of Linn Grove and Hartley, will be held at 11 a.m., today, Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, at Trinity Lutheran Church of Linn Grove. Rev. Mark Youngquist will officiate the service.

Visitation will begin at 12 p.m., Wednesday with the family present from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home in Spencer.

Interment will take place at Barnes Township Cemetery of Linn Grove.

Military services will be conducted by the American Legion Post 367 of Linn Grove.

Wayne passed away Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, at Longhouse Residence of Spencer.

Wayne Lowell Rogne, the son of Ole and Marie (Larson) Rogne, was born Dec. 15, 1917, in Linn Grove. His childhood years were spent in Linn Grove, where he received his education at country schools. After his schooling, he entered the military and served with the U.S. Army during W.W II, until his honorable discharge. After his service to his country, he returned to Minneapolis, MN, where he worked for a body shop.

Wayne married Hennie Marie Olson on Jan. 19, 1946, in Ruthven. Following their marriage, they moved to Linn Grove, where they farmed for 27 years, until retiring and moving to Spencer in 1974. From 1979 to 1998, they lived in the communities of Milford and Hartley, Iowa and spent their winters in Arizona and Texas. In May of 2007, he moved back to Spencer, where he resided at Longhouse Residence until the time of his death. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Linn Grove.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Hennie Marie in 2006; his stepmother; and sister.

Wayne is survived by his four sons: Richard Rogne and his wife, Marcia of Loveland, Colo., Lowell Rogne and wife, Debra of Spirit Lake, Dennis Olson of Spencer, and Steven Rogne and wife, Ronda of Hartley; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
