Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home of Jefferson City.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.
Burial with full military honors will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens of Jefferson City.
He was born on May 26, 1923, in Dayton, the son of David Samuel and Lillian Mae (Bankston) Bailey. Darrell was a United States Navy veteran of World War II. He was married on Jan. 27, 1946, in Ft. Dodge., to Kathleen "Kitty" Mary Thayer. He was employed as a meat inspector for the United States Department of Agriculture for twenty years. He was also a self-employed upholsteer for 25 years. He was a member of VFW Post 35.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; three sisters: Lydia Charlene Donahe, Selma Gunther, and Rozella Shipman; and two brothers: David Bailey and Dean Bailey.
Darrell is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Bruce Bailey and wife, Brenda of Florissant, Mo., and Dale Bailey of Jefferson City; one daughter Kathy Pingel and husband, Lorrell of Jefferson City; two brothers: Larry Bailey and wife, Darlene of Burford, S.D. and Gerald Bailey and wife, Lavone of Puyallup, Wash..; one sister, Delores Kincaid of Rock Island, Ill.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
