Funeral services for Mr. Steven Olson, 59, of Sacramento, Calif., formerly of Everly, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, at Warner Funeral Home of Everly. Rev. Scott Meier will officiate the service.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the memorial services at Warner Funeral Home of Everly.

Interment will take place at Lone Tree Cemetery of Everly.

On Nov. 11, 2007, Steven passed away in Sacramento, Calif.

Steven Wade Olson was born on June 1, 1948, in Spencer. He was baptized in Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer and attended cofirmation and was confirmed at Hope Lutheran Church in Everly.

Steven began his schooling at Waterford Township Country School and later attended and graduated from Everly Community High School in 1966. In high school Steven enjoyed track, football, basketball, and friends. Steven was also involved in contest speech, band, and chorus.

Steven attended Iowa State University and graduated with a degree in industrial engineering in 1972. He also later earned a degree in accounting.

On Sept. 27, 1986, Steven married Madeline Hess and settled in Seattle, Washington area. They were blessed with two children: Edward and Jennifer.

Steven had many interesting occupations: was engaged in farming, was an accountant for a fishing company in Alaska, he developed his own computer programming business, which he later sold and moved to Sacramento, Calif. Then Steven and Madeline started a food service business called E Z Dinners.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wade; brother, Ronald; and his grandparents.

Steven is survived by his wife: Madeline, son, Edward and daughter, Jennifer --  all of Sacramento; mother, Alma of Spencer; two sisters: Le Ora Lageschulte and husband, Roger of Seattle Wash., Jeanette Lietz and husband, Doug of Estherville; and brother, Gary Olson and wife, Deborah of Clarion.

Warner Funeral Home of Everly is in charge of arrangements.
