Funeral services for Mrs. Dolores Bina, 72, of Sutherland, will be held at 10:30 a.m., today, Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007, at the Church of Christ, Sutherland. Rev. Don Gordon will officiate the service.
Visitation will begin at 3 p.m., Wednesday, with the family present from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Warner Funeral in Sutherland.
Interment will take place at Waterman Cemetery of Sutherland.
Dolores passed away on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007, at Mercy Hospital in Sioux City.
Dolores Mae Bina, the daughter of William and Mary (Hoppe) Hinz, was born Aug. 25, 1935, in Primghar. Her childhood years were spent in the Gaza area, where she received her education, graduating from Gaza High School in 1953. Following high school, she worked as a nurse's aid at Sioux Valley Hospital in Cherokee.
Dolores married Greg Bina on May 18, 1960, in South Dakota. Following their marriage, they lived for a short time in Cherokee and Texas, before moving to Sutherland, where they made their home. She worked cleaning houses and business for several people in Sutherland, including the Sutherland Post Office. Dolores most recently worked as a greeter at Warner Funeral Home in Sutherland. She was also an integral part of the family fishing tackle business, Greg Bina & Associates, which was based out of their home.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Scott; and two sisters: Vicki Newell and Shirley Aldred.
Dolores is survived by her husband, Greg Bina of Sutherland; one daughter, Susan Nash and her husband, Michael of Everett, Wash.; a son, Steve Bina and his wife, Jenni of Brentwood, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
Warner Funeral Home of Sutherland is in charge of arrangements.
