Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Alexander, 86, of Spencer, formerly of Webb, will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007, at Trinity United Methodist Church of Webb. Rev. Julie McCullough and Rev. Brad Alexander will officiate the service.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m., today with the family present from 5-7 p.m. at the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.

Interment will take place at Garfield Cemetery of Webb.

Mary passed away Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007, at McKennan Hospital of Sioux Falls, S.D.

Mary Ann Alexander, the daughter of Arthur and Mae (Anderson) Woodford, was born Dec. 20, 1920, in Webb. She received her early education and graduated from the Garfield High School in 1938, as the class Valedictorian. 

Mary married Albert Leo Alexander on Feb. 15, 1941, in Spencer.  Following their marriage, they farmed east of Webb and lived in four different farmsteads in that area. In 1976, Leo and Mary began wintering in Arkansas and in 2001, they moved into the Highlands in Spencer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, John Alexander; brother, Kenneth Woodford; and a sister, Vera Anderson.

Mary is survived by her husband, Leo of Spencer; two sons: Leslie Alexander and wife, Linda of Iowa Falls, and Dean Alexander and wife, Janice of Springdale, Ark.;  one daughter, Carol Bellinghausen and husband, Bill of Huntersville, N.C.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Dorothy Weber of Webb, and Eleanor Essick of Spencer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the United Methodist Church in Webb or The Highlands in Spencer.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
