Funeral services for Mrs. Joyce Davidson, 90, of Spencer, will be held at 10:30 a.m., today, Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007, at Warner Chapel of Spencer. Rev. Chuck Kellogg will officiate the service.

Interment will take place at North Lawn Memorial Park of Spencer.

Joyce passed away Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, at Longhouse Residence of Spencer.

Edith Joyce Clarene Davidson, the daughter of Grant and Etta (Searcy) Pelley, was born March 13, 1917, in Clay County. She received her education at Spencer High School where she graduated.

Joyce married Earl Davidson on May 1, 1935, in Sioux Falls, S.D. Following their marriage, they farmed in the Spencer area for several years. In 1946, they moved to Ruthven where they made their home and her husband owned a carpentry business for many years. Throughout her life, Joyce worked at several businesses in Spencer. Most recently, she was a director of volunteers at RSVP for 19 years, until her retirement. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Ruthven. She moved to Spencer, in 1999.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl on July 25, 1982; daughter, Twyla Carlini in 2006; son-in-law, Richard Hott; two grandchildren; and four sisters: Vernetta, Rosetta, Vera and Elnora.

Joyce is survived by two daughters: Anita Hott of Spencer, and Janet Westergard and her husband, Richard of Graettinger; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
