Interment will take place at North Lawn Memorial Park of Spencer.
Frieda passed away on Monday, Nov. 5, 2007, at Spencer Hospital.
Frieda Sophie Kimball, the daughter of George and Augusta (Lubenow) Kelz, was born on Oct. 1, 1915, near Sherburn, Minn. She was baptized in infancy and confirmed at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Sherburn, where she also attended jr. high and high school. Frieda's marriage to Lloyd Kimball on Oct. 7, 1931, was officiated by Rev. Neuaber, the same Reverend who confirmed her.After living on a farm near Sherburn, Frieda and Lloyd moved to a farm near Spirit Lake, in 1934. In 1947, they moved to a farm north of Everly, where they lived until retiring in 1976 to a home on the east side of West Lake Okoboji. After her husband's death in 2001, Frieda moved to the Highlands Lutheran Complex in Spencer and was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church. During their retirement years at Lake Okoboji, Frieda and Lloyd attended Immanuel Lutheran Church in Spirit Lake. The majority of their years together were spent as members of First English Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Charlotte Duff; her grandson, David Dykstra; her great granddaughter, Gabrielle Woeltje; one brother, Lawrence Kelz; one sister, Lucy Kelz and two sons-in-law: Bill Smith and Loyal Schwisow.
Frieda is survived by four sons: Jerome Kimball and wife, Beverly of Spencer, Roger Kimball and wife, Lynn of Johnston, Donald Kimball and wife, Jian of West New York, N.J., and Kent Kimball and wife, Joan Kimball of Everly; and seven daughters: Barbara Dykstra and husband, Lester of Everly, Arlene Nova and husband, Wally of Mission Viejo, Calif., Mary Schwisow of Lacey, Wash., Sharon Weeden and husband, Richard of Scottsdale, Ariz., Joan Dirks and husband, Harlan of Saratoga, Calif., Jill Smith of Golden, Colo., and Jean Brown and husband, Terry Brown of Rosebud, Texas. Frieda had 23 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to the First English Lutheran Church Education Fund or the Landscape Fund.
Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
